At a tender age, we were taught to be the best at everything, you crawl through primary to university hopefully with the “best” attitude still printed at the back of your brain, but after graduation…..then what?
Welcome to our education system where you are boxed up, labelled up and sold for the price they think you are worth.
You are sized up by your capability to grasp information and reproduce it 3 hours later after which it’s long forgotten. If you can’t fit within their definition of bright, they will call you otherwise.
They ensure that opportunities are awarded by your papers not your competence to do something satisfactorily.
Try to think away from the normal system and boom, you are given a warning for being unserious.
We are students of words, made to cram words all our lifetime and come out as a bag of words, a memory of words and we don’t know a thing.
We are taught to follow orders, when a biology student is writing a poem and the bell rings, he has to leave it unfinished and learn how we evolved from apes.
It’s so unfair, most people are only expressed to the weight of love, know the joy of laughter after completing the system.
You are not static, life is more than you being measured, weighed or held down.
We are supposed to be what is right in this wrong world. We are supposed to alter perceptions and destroy shallow foundations of stereotypes.
Don’t let what happens after that so called”education system” define you, because we can’t be named anything we don’t answer to.
What you become is your own decision, it’s your story to tell, so make it worth telling.
“An education system isn’t worth a great deal if it teaches young people how to make a living but doesn’t teach them how to make a life.” Unknown
