Day 22: The Street Vendor

He is busy vending
Under the hot Kampala sun
Requesting pedestrians to come
buy his goods

He is doing so to earn a meal for
his family and pay school fees
He is determined to winning the
race of life

He is sometimes arrested by KCCA
for his crime, not having a trading licence
The angry officials vandalise his goods

He is never defeated and no one will stop him from achieving his
dream
So he comes back to the streets
This time with a sharper eye for that KCCA pick-up

His only hope
Tomorrow will bring better
